Description
An international technology group operated two web portals that had grown organically over time, each with its own domain, its own structure, and tens of thousands of URLs. Both were to be consolidated under a new shared domain, and the legacy domains retired, without sacrificing the visibility built up over the years. We owned the SEO strategy and guided the implementation throughout every phase.
Solution
A full audit of every valuable URL by rankings, traffic, and backlinks. A redirect strategy with no gaps—sending each address to its exact destination instead of broadly redirecting everything to the homepage. Prioritization based on business impact, starting with the most important pages first. Technical safeguards to ensure indexing, rendering, and correct international targeting. Close monitoring during and after the switch. A controlled, deliberate authority-building process for the new domain.
Results
The visibility of both legacy domains was fully transferred to the new domain. After the transition period, the new domain didn’t just match the visibility level of the old one—it significantly surpassed it. The consolidation was therefore not a zero-sum game, but a win. The collaboration continues to this day and covers technical SEO, an international domain structure, analytics setup, and an operating model for visibility in AI search systems.
