At work, we were contacted by Security Hive because an employee had visited the Security Hive website once. We didn’t submit any contact request or provide any phone number anywhere. So they must have found us using the data from our IP address that was used to access the site. On the phone, we told them this is very strange and not something we appreciate. After the call, I was also sent a contact request on my personal LinkedIn page. Even if we had been interested in the services this company offers, I wouldn’t want to have anything to do with them anymore.

We’ve found that finding information (especially in the area of cybersecurity) is often complex and can quickly turn into a bit of a search. From time to time, we reach out to visitors on our website if they’ve shown interest—just to check whether they were able to find the information they were looking for.
