The goal of the project was to develop a functional website based on an existing graphic design in Figma, which would serve as an information platform for SELENA's shareholders, customers and partners. Given the client's strict deadline, we used our WLC WordPress Starter Template - Versa WP to speed up the development process.

And so you've been looking for a junior for over a year and can't find one. Or maybe it's another fake ad! Unreliable company. Edit due to the fact that you removed my opinion a second time I am posting again. Truth stings in the eyes?

Our organization engaged WLC for PHP development services. After a considerable period, we are providing this review to offer a cautionary perspective for potential clients. While our legal counsel reviewed the initial service agreement, a critical clause regarding intellectual property ownership was not immediately apparent. This provision subsequently became a significant concern, leading to our decision to discontinue any future engagements with WLC. The issue arose during a dispute regarding billed hours for specific development tasks. We requested detailed time logs to substantiate the charges, as the progress observed did not align with the reported hours. This request initiated a series of adversarial interactions, including direct threats from WLC's Chief Operating Officer. This included the COO CC'ing us on an internal email calling us a "dishonest customer" because we questioned the work done versus the payment request. That's not dishonest, it's asking for documentation which they were hired to do. Upon withholding payment due to the lack of supporting documentation, we were informed that WLC claimed ownership of the entire codebase, citing the aforementioned contractual clause. This clause stipulated that any payment delinquency, regardless of the amount, would result in WLC asserting full intellectual property rights over the project. <-- even if the developer only wrote 1 line of code... We experienced persistent and unprofessional threats from the COO, ultimately leading us to remit payment to resolve the matter so we didnt have to hear from them again and move on from the nightmare dealing with them. We even called the "lawyer" they claimed to have opened a case with, and this lawyer stated they know nothing about WLC, and WLC is not a client of theirs. Which points to completely fabricated threats just to get people to pay them. Subsequently (and ironically), we received unsolicited correspondence from WLC inquiring about future project opportunities. We strongly advise potential clients to thoroughly review and understand all contractual clauses before engaging WLC. Specifically, pay close attention to provisions related to intellectual property ownership and payment terms. Be aware that disputes may result in aggressive tactics and potential claims of codebase ownership, even in the absence of substantiated work deliverables. They will also threaten you with registering your company with a national database that ruins your reputation, and they also threatened to contact all of our investors... Simply because we asked for proof of hours and documentation. We will never recommend this company to anyone purely because of the degree of unprofessionalism from the COO. Had he approached the situation like an adult/professional, we would have gladly hired them back and recommended them. If anyone wants specific details or documentation, reach out. I will be happy to provide.
