About The Next App
The Next App is a software company headquartered in Rotterdam. It was launched in 2016 by Berry Goudswaard, a hands-on developer with more than 20 years of real-world experience. We focus on bespoke mobile apps and web platforms—designed and built fully by our own in-house team. We don’t outsource work, and we don’t rely on freelancers. Our core toolkit consists of Flutter for cross-platform iOS and Android apps (one codebase), NestJS to deliver backend APIs, and Angular for the web front end. Since adopting Flutter in 2018, we’ve brought more than 65 production apps and web solutions to market for clients such as Gemeente Rotterdam, KNVB, and Quooker. For every assignment, you’ll work with a single main contact: Berry. There are no account managers standing between you and the development team. That direct communication channel keeps updates transparent and helps maintain steady quality from the first planning session through launch. We partner with Dutch SMEs and larger organisations that want software shaped to their workflows—not ready-made products that require constant workarounds. Many of our client collaborations last for years and include multiple projects.

The NextApp team built an app for our company to configure our wireless controller. The team doesn’t need much time to understand what you’re looking for, and they don’t come up with a bunch of expensive proposals for preliminary research or UI strategy. That said, they do work in a structured way. Their communication is straightforward, and they’re very solution-oriented. They meet deadlines, and the few issues we had after the release were resolved the very same day every time. What really sets them apart for us is their knowledge of Bluetooth communication—that’s excellent.
