Description
A mid-sized retailer noticed suspicious activity on its Magento 2 shop. An analysis by Storetown Media confirmed the worst: the site had been compromised, malicious code with remote code execution capabilities was injected into core files, and it was communicating with an external command-and-control server.
Solution
Comprehensive forensic analysis (infection path, timeframe, affected files and data), removal of the malicious code, rotation of all access credentials, and systematic hardening of the shop. After that, the relevant security patches were installed and ongoing monitoring was put in place. The preparation for the GDPR notification to the relevant supervisory authority was fully supported. On that basis, Storetown Media today proactively patches every supported shop against current Magento security vulnerabilities—including SessionReaper / CVE-2025-54236 and Adobe security bulletins.
Results
After the cleanup, the shop was fully operational again and has been running ever since without any further incidents. The customer met their reporting and documentation obligations on time. Out of this incident, a permanent maintenance and security concept was developed—a level of service that only a few e-commerce agencies cover to this extent.

Dear Readers, This review was written by a former employee who is trying to permanently harm the agency in this way. The fake reviews/rankings from the past four weeks also come from her—and/or her circle. Google has been informed for about two and a half weeks, and I’m hoping something happens, even though things currently don’t look good. She was rightfully dismissed due to inadequate performance, a desolate work attitude, and unsocial behavior toward employees.
