Overall, it was a really great experience; our guide, Françoise, is very friendly and knows how to adapt to any situation (fatigue, shorter or less steep trails, etc.).
Two areas for improvement, though:
- Stop mixing people with very different fitness levels (even if they’re very friendly!), as this led to a lot of waiting throughout the hikes;
- The meals at the lodge weren’t great, from breakfast to dinner (no local dishes, and as a vegetarian, I mostly ate bread and cheese for four days).
This was offset by the group’s friendliness, the planned encounters with several shepherds (who appreciate this approach rather than having to respond to every tourist who walks past their homes while they’re working), the many animals and young ones we encountered roaming semi-freely in the mountains (foals, lambs, piglets, kids…), and the amazing campsite with our heads under the stars… A complete packing list was sent well in advance by Odysway. I highly recommend it!

Hello to the whole team,
It’s hard to come back down to earth after this wonderful trip. Everything was perfect—from the communication before the trip to the organization on-site. We went from one amazing experience to the next with Tuya, our guide, and Toggy and Nikki, our drivers. We experienced unforgettable moments with the herding families who welcomed us so warmly, and incredible moments with the family of Onkhtuya the Shaman. Tuya, Toggy, and Nikki did everything they could to make the trip interesting and enjoyable for us. Our small group of four women was truly wonderful. We got along wonderfully—there was a great sense of camaraderie, including with the Evasion Mongolie team—and we shared lots of hearty laughter. Everything went smoothly and effortlessly, thanks to our guides. We learned a lot about the culture and history, and participated in the daily lives of the herders (milking yaks and goats, making yak cream and butter, distilling milk to make milk alcohol…).
What more can I say? A huge thank you to the entire team—this trip far exceeded my expectations.

It’s not just about hiking—meeting the shepherds and shepherdesses really makes it meaningful. The small group size was ideal. The professional guide adapted the itinerary based on the weather and knew the history of these mountains like the back of his hand. One of the best trips we’ve taken in the Pyrenees so far… We highly recommend it!
