UX&I supported LIfBi as a strategic UX and enablement partner.
Alongside the methodological guidance, the main focus was on equipping the team to integrate UX research and user-centered product development into their day-to-day work on their own. This not only created a solid foundation for the further development of the MDE, but also established a sustainable UX process across the organization.
Together with the LIfBi team, we didn’t treat UX as traditional consulting, but as a shared learning and change initiative. The goal was to embed UX skills in the team long-term while also building a deeper understanding of real-world usage contexts and requirements. To make that happen, we developed a practical enablement and research setup that was integrated directly into everyday work. Our collaboration included, among other things: - UX training and structured enablement - Stakeholder and user interviews - Developing research questions and interview guides - Moderating and supporting UX research - Experience mapping and clustering complex requirements - Structuring problem spaces and priorities - Joint workshops to co-create solutions What was especially important was that every team member actively took part in the process—from interviews through to analysis and evaluation.
Thanks to a structured UX research process, LIfBi was able to systematically understand for the first time how different user groups actually work with the MDE—and exactly where concrete problems arise. The project helped by:

I think UX&I’s outward image is misleading. The company promotes itself as “the most well-known UX company,” even though the German upa industry report 2025 had only 339 participants in total—and just 86 of them named UX&I. That small sample doesn’t, in my view, justify such a claim and could give outsiders a false impression of how well the company is actually known in the market. More transparency would be appreciated.

Hi Johannes, thanks for your thoughtful note. Transparency is important to us, too. What we said refers to the German UPA industry report. German UPA is the UX professional association with the largest membership base in Europe, and the annual report is widely regarded in the German-speaking UX industry as a key reference—also for market awareness and visibility. Within this survey, UX&I was mentioned most frequently, and our whole team is very proud of that. At the same time, we’re aware that every study is based on a defined sample, which is why we state the source clearly. Your feedback highlights how important context is, and we’ll continue to communicate that openly.
