I met Mirjam Jansen at the "Art and Medicine" event in Baden-Baden, where she gave a lecture on artificial intelligence in medicine. The lecture was impressive not only because of its well-founded content, but also because of the coherent overall concept of the event, which created an open and pleasant atmosphere. It is particularly positive that Ms. Jansen gives this complex topic a human face. This approach is crucial, especially for the older generation, in order to deal with the topic objectively and without reservations. In addition to the undeniable opportunities offered by AI in the medical field, she also takes existing concerns and reservations seriously without trivializing them. With remarkable composure and patience, she succeeds in building a bridge between people who already work with AI as a matter of course and those for whom this development seems frightening at first. What particularly impressed me was her balanced attitude: she emphasizes that AI does not replace medical experience, but rather supports it, for example through faster data analysis, more structured diagnostics, and relief from routine tasks, always with the focus on people. A technically convincing and at the same time very pleasant speaker.
