Description
RBS+PWW’s existing ERP system is a custom development that has grown over many years. Over time, running and maintaining it has increasingly hit both technical and organizational limits. Because of the high amount of manual upkeep and the fact that technical support was running out, about a year and a half ago they commissioned the development of a new ERP system as bespoke software. However, the rollout of this new system lacked sufficient transparency and did not involve active change management. Instead of building on proven existing components or standard solutions, key foundations of an ERP system were rebuilt from scratch. As a result, progress in the project was not transparent enough, the business departments were insufficiently involved, and the overall project direction became unstable.
Solution
ion2s was brought in as a partner to restructure the ERP project and roll it out step by step. Our approach: not just analysis and concepting, but implementing the target vision through to system go-live. The solution included: - Reframing the project: a clear target vision, a realistic roadmap, and agile project planning - Change enablement from day one: involving internal business perspectives to develop the target solution together - Architecture and technology concept: based on a modular, expandable ERP architecture (including Odoo) - Modernization & implementation: iterative rollout instead of a big-bang approach to ensure stability, transparency, and early usable results - A measurable business case: minimizing risk, making maintenance easier, and ensuring long-term stability ion2s provides end-to-end services—from consulting and architecture design to software development, change management, and implementation—so technology becomes a stable, future-ready foundation for the core business of RBS+PWW.
