Description
Prior to the development of this application for OVSZ, donation centers had to submit laboratory results in paper form to the central database. OVSZ stored all of these results, but never provided a standard protocol for access, so donation centers had no knowledge of whether a donor had already been flagged as ineligible to donate blood by another donation center.
Results
The online Cross Donation Registry is currently being tested by select donation centers across the country. We are pleased to report that the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and that donation centers are finding it useful and are actually requesting additional functionality.
