I’m writing this review years later because I was recently reminded of just how boundary-crossing this collaboration felt for me at the time. At 28, full of ambition and confidence in my growing business, I started working with DTT. Unfortunately, I experienced it very differently than I had hoped. What could have been a constructive collaboration quickly felt unclear and burdensome. The original (discussed verbally) agreement of a certain monthly amount for the SLA—in my experience—was increased every time I raised a critical question. In the end, that amount ended up being five times higher than what had been agreed beforehand. During the development of my app, an additional amount in the thousands of euros was added to the total, according to DTT because of an interim update to iOS and Android. I had expected an expert to inform me in advance that these systems roll out updates multiple times per year and that this can come with added costs—even though we had agreed on a fixed price. Switching to another developer is difficult in any case. Back then, the code couldn’t simply be transferred over one-to-one without additional costs. Costs that can also add up significantly. So in practice, you end up getting stuck with the person (or company) you’re working with. During that period, I felt trapped. As a business owner, you’re sometimes dependent on external experts, and that can put you in a vulnerable position. I ultimately came out stronger—but that’s entirely due to myself. From my perspective, this was absolutely not an equal partnership. For me, this moment is the closure of something that has been chasing me for years (financially).

Hi Saide, Sorry to hear that you’re still dealing with this, six years after our collaboration. We’ve already sent you a message—if you feel like talking about it further, we’d be happy to set aside some time for you. It’s good to read that you’ve come out of it stronger. Starting a business comes with risks; investing in a project doesn’t guarantee the hoped-for success. Regarding the agreement: DTT follows the arrangements that were made and, as a rule, often delivers a bit more than was agreed upon. In your case as well, DTT went beyond what was agreed, but you were hoping for more. DTT did everything it could to help you as best as possible. As for the SLA: we offer “basic” versions, but also more extensive ones—for example, versions where all maintenance of the solution is included, along with the monthly price. You’re right that a more comprehensive SLA version is more expensive. Kind regards, DTT

A year ago I paid €5,000 for a website, but nothing was delivered. DTT lies, threatens people, and drags everything out. They’re awful—don’t do business with them!

Stagaires / Interns be warned! Be aware of HR. DTT promises a lot about the future possibilities but they most likely let you go and on top they almost pay nothing! Information is obtained from reliable internal sources.

Laborie specializes in the development of medical devices. Some of our older medical equipment—specifically our urodynamic system—uses an Android board for the user interface (touchscreen display). DTT helped us carry out an essential update of an embedded Android app on our urodynamic devices. The changes related to communication between the system modules and the Laborie PC software, which connects via Bluetooth. Recent component availability issues led to a shortage of Bluetooth chips, so we had to adapt the Android interface to work over a USB connection. Using their knowledge and expertise, DTT modified our Android app to ensure timely communication with our peripherals over USB or Bluetooth. The development and collaboration with DTT went very smoothly, and we’re grateful for their support in making the necessary adjustments to our Android application. DTT has proven to be a reliable partner who helped us resolve our challenges. We enjoyed working together and look forward to collaborating with DTT on future Android projects.
