The woman at the front desk was really rude; I just wanted to ask a simple question. It’s actually easier to get into a bank than into this company. P.S.: I hardly think “unannounced visits” should be a big problem for an IT company. The woman at the front desk was totally rude and answered me while blocking the door—as if I were about to rob the place. She only left it open five centimeters. And in my defense: I don’t think I look like a homeless person. I don’t expect a welcoming committee, but if she had treated me like a human being, I wouldn’t have to waste my time writing a complaint to the owner right now.

We have reviewed the incident internally and would like to address it. Our employee opened the door and actively offered to help when you were standing at our entrance looking around. Unfortunately, a clarifying conversation was not possible because no specific reason was given. You were then kindly asked to contact us via email or phone—the standard procedure in a company that does not receive the general public. Allowing unannounced visitors unknown to the company and without a clear purpose to enter is not an option we can expect our employees to accommodate. Another colleague was present and can confirm what happened. Anyone who shows up unannounced, does not state a reason for their visit, and yet demands entry triggers a cautious reaction in anyone—this is not unfriendliness, but a natural and justified form of self-protection. We are happy to assist you with your inquiry via email or phone.
