The project goal was a joint digital health initiative, FTB2 KHZF. Datatree worked with external consulting providers. Datatree was responsible for preparing documentation on data protection and IT security, as well as communicating with the state data protection authority. The project involved 11 clinics, each with a project lead, IT staff, and a data protection officer. Developing the data protection documents took a very long time, and the quality left a lot to be desired. Datatree’s point of contact was unreachable for weeks at a time. Communication with the data protection authority also wasn’t truly professional. Deadlines were repeatedly missed, which angered the data protection authority. In some cases, fulfilling the services agreed in the contract had to be demanded by threatening legal action. Despite the complaint, Datatree’s management did not step in.

Creating the data protection documents took a very long time, and the quality left a lot to be desired. Datatree’s contact person was often unreachable for weeks. And the communication with the data protection authority wasn’t really professional either.
The deadlines were consistently missed, which drew the data protection authority’s ire.
We sometimes had to threaten legal action to get the contractual services to be performed. Even after a complaint was filed, Datatree’s management did not take any action.
