ConSol Consulting & Solutions Software GmbH, headquartered in Munich, has been helping local and international companies with tailored IT solutions across the entire software lifecycle for more than 40 years. Our portfolio is built on high-end IT consulting, agile software development, and managed operations and support—and it’s continually expanded using the latest technologies. This includes open-source projects such as Quarkus, OpenShift, and Tekton. The company also develops and sells ConSol CM, a platform for digitizing business processes.

Over 40 years of IT solutions from ConSol: Our milestones

1984, 1995

From a one-person operation to a globally active GmbH: With the goal of delivering expert solutions to complex IT challenges, Dr. Ulrich Schwanengel founded ConSol in 1984 in Munich as a one-man company. It was the right moment: Within just a few years, he won over well-known clients, including the Fraunhofer Society, IBM, Porsche, Münchner Rück, and Siemens. At the same time, he expanded his team—among others, with renowned Unix and networking experts from the USA. Since 1991, ConSol has operated as a GmbH. In 1995, the company moved, along with its newly hired team members, into a representative office building in Munich’s Haidhausen district. Since then, the company has continued to grow steadily—worldwide as well.

1996, 2004

Award-winning: innovation and growth: The motto “quality through competence” shapes ConSol’s corporate philosophy. With success: In 1997, ConSol launched its helpdesk solution CallManager*—today ConSol CM. The fully Java-based software won “Solution of the Year” in the same year at the IBM competition. In 1998, ConSol established its German branch in Ratingen near Düsseldorf, and in 2000/01, it founded subsidiaries in Poland and the USA. This growth did not go unnoticed: Since 1998, the company has regularly appeared in rankings and lists such as “Europe’s 500,” “Bavaria’s Best 50,” and “Deloitte Technology Fast 50.” For its consistent innovation and sustainable growth, ConSol was also named “Entrepreneur of the Year 2004” by Ernst & Young.

2005, 2010

A corporate culture that sets the standard: Flat hierarchies, employee participation, flexible working hours, knowledge sharing, and equal opportunities are key ingredients for the special working atmosphere at ConSol. Here, every employee can develop their potential to the fullest and deliver top performance. The team-oriented collaboration also creates the space for innovation. This approach to people management has won multiple awards. For example, from 2006 to 2010, ConSol won the “Germany’s Best Employers” competition five times in a row in the category for companies with up to 500 employees. And even among the “Best Workplaces in Europe,” ConSol regularly makes it into the top 10.

2011, 2015

A competence push as an IT service provider: Whether Agile Testing, Deep Learning, Big Data, or Kubernetes—early on, ConSol adopts new technologies quickly and makes them available for customer projects just as fast. Since 2011, the company has increasingly shared its open-source monitoring expertise with the public and has intensified its partnerships. In areas such as DevOps, test automation, and managed services, ConSol also drives knowledge exchange forward. The meetups, webcasts, and events organized and hosted by ConSol are gaining recognition. As an Advanced Business Partner of Red Hat, the company—together with Red Hat—hosts several technology events at Munich’s Allianz Arena in 2015.

2016, 2020

ConSol—future ready, future safe. As all business areas are digitized, demands on the performance of IT & technology are rising. At the same time, customers have higher expectations: products and services must be available quickly, without limits, and tailored to their needs. ConSol is well positioned for tomorrow’s requirements: We consistently focus on agility, DevOps, and individual consulting. Technologically, we always look ahead. We provide our customers with expertise in cloud-native development, container environments, microservices, IT automation, and more. Strong partnerships with Red Hat & NGINX round out our portfolio.

2021, 2024

40 years riding the tech wave We are continuously expanding our partner network and entering partnerships with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and OVH, Europe’s leading hosting provider. We’re also setting new priorities in the field of artificial intelligence and pushing innovation forward. A truly emotional milestone in our company history was our 40th corporate anniversary in June 2024. Four decades filled with concentrated expertise, constant innovation, and joy in the work lie behind us. Together with our customers and partners, we look ahead to the future with optimism. With that in mind: Here’s to the next 40 years!

2025

AI with responsibility. Consulting with foresight: By deliberately refining our portfolio, we strengthen our profile as a practical IT implementation consultancy. New topics such as artificial intelligence naturally fit into this—according to needs, GDPR-compliant, open source, and hosted locally or in the EU cloud. We are creating a new AI business unit to bundle our expertise in tailored AI solutions even more effectively. Our promise: to translate technological trends into tangible, commercially sensible applications—always with a clear focus on operational value for our customers. Because: artificial intelligence is already a reality. And we’re shaping it—securely, sovereignly, and sustainably.
