Axel Springer High-Rise, West Berlin’s Glass Palace of Printed Thunder And there it stands: a gleaming mirror from the Cold War era, when a stack of newspapers and a healthy amount of opinion were apparently considered perfectly adequate tools for irritating the East. The tower went up at the end of the 1960s, practically right beside the Berlin Wall, just to make sure the headlines could thunder across to the other side. Architecturally speaking, it was something of a giant megaphone: “Look over here, we’ve got a free press… and considerably more windows!” 😉 Today, the glass façade mostly reflects e-scooters, takeaway coffee cups and the general digital hum of modern Berlin, while the great printing machinery of the old days has long since fallen silent. There is a certain historical irony in the fact that one of the great symbols of print journalism has itself become something of a monument to the age of paper. 📰 Conclusion: A skyscraper that feels like an oversized editorial quote, loud, confident and so gloriously retro that it is almost fashionable again. Almost. 😄

Im Nachrichtensender labern Tychsen und Klug seit Monaten über eine Wahl von 1,7 Mio Leuten, die noch nicht mal alle wählen gehen über ungelegte Eier laberten auch Staedtler und Wulldorf die zwei Opas aus der Loge der Muppet Show!

Hier wird man scheinbar als Abonnent betrogen. Mitte Mai COMPUTER BILD Abo abgeschlossen, die 140 Euro Prämie sollte 2 Wochen später kommen, somit Ende Juni. Es kam nichts. Nun ist der 1.9. und ich erfahre auf meine Nachfrage hin, daß man das Geld nun überweise. Keine Entschuldigung für das "Vergessen", kein Name in der Grussformel vom Service. So etwas zeugt von schlechtem Benehmen. Fehler passieren, aber man kann sich entschuldigen. Fazit: nie mehr Axel Springer.
