Dear Wemona Beauty Salon - Thank you for your response, which unfortunately confirms the unprofessional attitude I experienced in person. To clarify: my complaint was never about the price. It was about uneven lashes and a stylist who was unfriendly when I raised a legitimate concern - and who was not wearing a mask during a close-contact service. These are valid quality and hygiene issues, not budget complaints. Your suggestion that I only complained “when it was time to pay” is false and dismissive. Implying that customers who raise quality concerns simply cannot afford your services is condescending and says a great deal about how you treat clients. I stand by my review. A 1-star experience deserves a 1-star rating, and your response here has only reinforced that. Original Review follows: VERY bad service unfortunately, the stylist didn’t make my lashes even and wasn’t friendly when I asked her about it. One important thing is she also didn’t wear a mask. For this service it’s overpriced. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

Hi Lisa, We would like to clarify the situation regarding your recent visit. You requested a one-by-one lash extension set, which is a premium service. The price of €80 reflects both the quality of our work and our location in the center of Amsterdam. Around us, you will not find a professional new set for €30 as you suggested. The lashes applied were symmetrical and professionally done. Your complaint only appeared after the service was completed, when it was time to pay. This shows the issue was not with the treatment itself but with your unwillingness to accept the agreed price. Beauty services are a luxury, not a necessity. If our prices are above your budget, it is your responsibility to choose a salon that matches what you can afford, rather than trying to discredit our business afterwards. Your response is extremely disappointing and unacceptable to me. Instead of addressing my complaint in a substantive way, you choose to make accusations and dodge responsibility. In addition, I experience your remarks as explicitly discriminatory and, in some respects, even racist. The way you reference my background and nationality and link it to your assumptions is completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and deeply concerning. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable in a professional environment. What also stands out is that there are multiple similar complaints where customers point to a lack of proper management and customer focus. Unfortunately, your response confirms that picture. Rather than striving for customer satisfaction and a solution, it seems your focus is solely on a businesslike approach, with no sign of empathy, responsibility, or respect for the customer. This is very disappointing. Given your attitude and the way you communicate, I no longer have any confidence that this conversation will lead to a resolution. Your response contains incorrect and utterly unacceptable accusations. If I truly had such expectations of your two Iranian employees, then—just like some others—I would certainly have paid less. So your assumption is completely unfounded. It’s striking that, instead of addressing the specific issue that arose two days ago, you choose to divert attention with irrelevant and baseless comments. This indicates a lack of proper management and accountability. Even more notable is that I’m talking about eyelash treatments, while you start discussing nails. This level of inaccuracy in your response is genuinely concerning. In light of your attitude and the way you communicate, I believe further discussion is entirely pointless. The behavior I witnessed from you yesterday was simply not acceptable. From the start, the way you greeted me and the tone you used (“did you not have time?”) immediately gave me a bad feeling—and even afterward, your attitude was not professional. I’m a hairdresser myself, and based on my experience, I can judge a hairdresser’s behavior well. Not delivering good work to a customer has nothing to do with “vibes”; it has everything to do with professional standards. If you don’t have the motivation or energy to work, it’s better not to take the customer’s time and money. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this behavior, which is why I felt it was necessary to tell you honestly. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with the eyelash treatment. The staff was unfriendly and unprofessional, and this isn’t the first time. It seems like customers are being taken in even when there’s no motivation or energy, which leads to poor service and wasted time and money. Such a shame, because it really can be better.

This client has repeatedly failed to show up multiple times. In addition, she’s very rude to our staff, and our nail technicians no longer want to treat her. She’s also from Iran, and we have two employees from Iran. She seems to think that means she’ll receive a specialized treatment and that certain services don’t need to be paid for. Recently, she was also asked not to come in anymore.
