I wanted to do the Kungsleden (Abisko, Kebnekaise) in winter after a recent summer hike of the trail. I chose Polar Exped after comparing various options for guided tours. Polar Exped stood out for me for various reasons, (i) the groups were smaller (max 5 participants), other tours have sometimes up to 15 people, (ii) assistance selecting the right gear which I thought was super helpful not having experience with such cold weather conditions, (iii) Polar Exped provides quality equipment where other tours make you rent equipment in Abisko which is quite worn out equipment (understatement), and (iv) focus on safety by Polar Exped. After the Kungsleden Hut Tour in March 2026, I can say Polar Exped lived up to my expectations and even exceeded it. Robert from Polar Exped really has a lot of experience on the Kungsleden, and helped out with many practical tips which made the experience all the better. Also having quality equipment made all the difference. All in all a great week and an experience of a lifetime. I can highly recommend Polar Exped should you consider doing the guided Abisko, Kebnekaise hut tour.

Having had ample time to reflect on my recent experience with Polar Exped, I am thoroughly delighted with every aspect of skiing the Kungsleden under the expert leadership of organizer Rob Lewandowski. This was a significant personal endeavor and commitment, as I traveled across the Atlantic to join our four-person team. From the comprehensive pre-trip gear list to the seamless booking of all STF huts and end-of-trip transportation, Rob left no stone unturned in planning and preparation. Every logistical detail was handled with care and professionalism, allowing participants to focus fully on the experience. Most impressive was the leader’s precise navigation in conditions where natural visibility and terrain reading were not possible. Rob’s extensive polar experience was evident throughout and provided a strong sense of confidence and security for the entire team. Equally noteworthy was his consistent communication. Rob demonstrated an exceptional ability to work with different personalities, clearly set and convey expectations, assess individual skill levels, and adapt to a wide range of outdoor experience. It was a pleasure to be part of the Polar Exped team, and I would highly recommend the organization to anyone seeking a professionally led and memorable experience in the mountains of northern Sweden.

I found Polar Exped did this trip at a better price compared to others. Rob was very accommodating and flexible. The trip was sorted and reserved easily. The Kungsleden exped was equally well managed with all transfers and hut bookings well managed. The leadership and pace were tailored to match the experience and fitness levels of the group. There were just 4 of us on the trip and Rob managed to secure us a 4 or 6 bed room in every hut. This was much appreciated with it being peak season and the huts being fully booked most nights. All in all, a great trip and well worth doing at least once in your life ! Thanks Rob !

I went to Sweden with Polar Exped in March 2024, having no prior experience with skiing or being in an Arctic climate. However, I wanted to take on the challenge and explore my limits. Although it wasn’t easy, and I had many moments of doubt, Robert’s professionalism was a tremendous help. Not only during the expedition, but also in the preparations and gear selection. Robert, always took care of my well-being and motivated me during the tough moments, which made me feel safe at all times. This expedition opened up new horizons for me, helped me believe in my abilities, and sparked a deep fascination with Arctic remote places that I now plan to continue exploring.
