Description

The project involved addressing issues within the existing infrastructure stack for a client operating in the jewelry business, particularly specializing in bespoke engagement rings.

Solution

To resolve security, scalability, cost efficiency, operational, and software update delivery issues, we implemented a microservice architecture using Kubernetes. Terraform was utilized for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage all components efficiently. CI/CD pipelines were set up using GitLab for both infrastructure and application deployments. Services were deployed in EU and US regions to reduce latency for international clients. Additionally, CDNs were implemented to optimize website performance and deliver content faster to users worldwide.

Results

The optimized application release process and automated delivery significantly improved efficiency. The infrastructure successfully mitigated multiple DDOS attacks and underwent continuous cost optimizations. 24x7 support ensured infrastructure reliability, while the scalable infrastructure based on load and improved website speed enhanced user experience for both US and UK/EU clients.

ITGix helped us significantly improve the performance of our GitLab pipelines and optimize our overall deployment strategy. We were facing issues with our GitLab runner configuration, resource limitations, and concurrency constraints, and their team resolved these challenges quickly and effectively. They also assisted us with our Redis setup and helped us troubleshoot several minor issues across our environment, ensuring everything ran smoothly and reliably. Another major achievement was establishing a solid backup and disaster recovery strategy, which they implemented using Velero. They also set up comprehensive monitoring, along with Cloudflare’s under-attack mode and JavaScript challenge, after we experienced an unexpected DDoS attack. ITGix reacted quickly and professionally, making sure we avoided downtime. Their managed services are of a very high standard. In cases of emergency, they respond rapidly and consistently meet the agreed SLAs.

ITGix helped us stabilize and optimize our entire infrastructure after facing recurring issues with our previous vendor. They improved the performance of our GitLab pipelines, resolved resource and concurrency problems, and supported us with Redis tuning and several smaller fixes. Their team also implemented a reliable backup and disaster recovery strategy with Velero and reacted swiftly during an unexpected DDoS attack, preventing downtime. Overall, their proactive approach, fast response times, and high-quality managed services have made a significant positive impact on our operations.

I'm the CTO of aiomics GmbH. We provide an AI-powered co-pilot that streamlines clinical documentation for healthcare providers by capturing and validating information from multiple sources, ensuring compliance and integration with existing systems to reduce administrative burden and improve care.

We engaged ITGix to speed up our platform architecture implementation on AWS, aiming to accelerate our infrastructure setup and ensure a robust, compliant environment for our healthcare solution.

ITGix was responsible for setting up logging, alarms, encryption, and a multi-account AWS setup. In addition to the initial setup, they have also been resolving issues and assisting with the deployment of some self-hosted open source services. ItGix helped us develop our complete AWS Cloud environment and deplyment procedures, together with DevSecOps practices.

But the ITGix ADP container platform changed that completely. Thanks to its automated bootstrapping, we set up a full container environment—including database integration—in just a few hours, and deployed the first version of our app on AWS within days. Now, a simple merge to the master branch triggers a pipeline that does everything for us. That kind of automation has been a game changer. IT Gix were tasked to support the Fadata internal product application development infrastructure and partially CI/CD. They have delivered k8s cluster with documentation and handover, plus application deploy servers setup. Afterwards they've continued to support us from an INCM perspective. As part of this they have setup a monitoring system in place.

We were impressed with their flexibility, expertise, and understanding of our business needs. Conversations were absolutely transperent in terms of budget allocation, payments and deadlines. Their CEO Kamen engages when necessary. Kamen has a solid technical and engineering track so he speaks the same language as both the engineering staff on the client side but also the management.

At this stage I see nothing in particular. Probably we've had a slightly slower start with one of the engineers who was a bit more on the junior side compared to what we've expected but he has managed to catch up quite quickly and was actively supported in the background. So overall nothing major to recomend.
