Even providers should exercise extreme caution when allowing design. For me, it borders on a rip-off! I have started a tender for new website icons there. The fee is 50 euros without the prize money for the designers. I then received a great design and chose it as the winner. Of the 240 euros in prize money, the designer also collects a fee from the winner in addition to my fee! So far ok, you know that beforehand. . On the basis of the icons, I then set another tender, I wanted to have sliders created on the basis of the icons already created. So another 50 Euro tender fee and this time 380 Euro for the winner. Now it comes, after the second tender is running comes (7 days after the winner of the icon creation) the message from Designenlassen that no license is granted for the first created icons because the winner has probably created the icons with AI support. I am not allowed to use the icons, Designenlassen keeps the fees! What? What can I do if the (experienced and well-rated) designer doesn't follow the guidelines? Of course, this also invalidates the second tender for the slider, because the icons may not be used for that either. Of course, Designenlassen still keeps the posting fee. Great, 2 x fees collected and I get nothing out of it! On top of that, tens of designers who invested a lot of time in vain for the second tender! Too bad for the designers and me, Designenlassen still collects. You feel like you've been taken for a ride. All in all, absolutely no recommendation, even with bonus payments to designers who have put in a lot of effort, Designenlassen wants to cash in. The same applies if you want to choose 2 designers, you can only do this with double the prize money and double the fees. Neither splitting the fees nor splitting the prize money is possible. Sorry Designlassen, collecting fees for everything, letting designers work for free without the provider or the designer getting anything out of it is a NoGo...even if you hide it behind dubious and non-transparent guidelines. If there are prohibited design proposals, sort them out in good time and not just 7 days after the end of the tender. Collecting money everywhere without anyone benefiting from it is cheeky!

The times when we enjoyed working with designenlassen are unfortunately over. We once again completed a project there. Unfortunately, it turned out that the designer had not created a correct vector file. After a long back and forth, we only received an email saying that they were sorry, that the designer was no longer with us and a list of other designers with whom we would have to spend money again. Even after we replied and expressed our disappointment, there was no reply. Because of this cold way of dealing with long-standing customers and the legal fact that when you work directly with designers, you can also sue for a contractual service if it has not been provided, we decided against designenlassen.de.

It's actually a nice idea, but I often don't take part anymore because sometimes masses of designs are submitted. I also find it quite impersonal for graphic designers and a brief description of what the design should look like. Then you're also competing with designers from third countries, for whom the prize money is probably as much as a whole month's salary.

The idea is good. Good for customers. A disaster for designers. Very few clients write a proper briefing or give decent feedback. The prefabricated feedback cannot be formulated in a less appreciative way. The winning design is no longer visible, so you can't even be sure that a design won't be stolen. The prepayment option suggests that the money will actually be paid out. Most projects with "prepayment" end without a winner. A rogue who thinks evil of it. Of course, this is great for customers. You can take advantage of a whole bunch of designers at the same time and not even for the price of a visit to the hairdresser. I apologize to the minority of decent customers, there are some.

Unfortunately, this has turned completely negative for designers in the last year. At the end of the competitions you are no longer allowed to see the designs of the other designers, which is a great pity because that is exactly what made it fun. Seeing the thoughts of like-minded people. Secondly, the "logo store" is absolute garbage. All the logos posted so far have been rejected due to "unsuitable appearance". Isn't design a matter of taste? If you look at the 6000 logos that have been accepted, you quickly realize that these are copied logos from various databases that they simply can't get rid of and therefore won't accept any more. But then you should also communicate this before you go to the trouble of preparing the logos. Nowhere is it communicated that the logos can be rejected due to their "appearance". It used to be a really nice site, but it's just not fun anymore!
