Crowdsite began in 2009 as a spin-off from a software development firm, created by Roel Masselink at 23. Our first base was in the Netherlands, where we launched ontwerpen-voor-geld.nl. The response was immediate, and within no time it grew into the country’s leading design website. What started as an idea turned into a goal: we soon concluded that the next chapter for the platform needed to reach beyond national borders. In 2011, we kicked off our first international step with logo-design.de. Building a multilingual site that still felt local required a lot of effort, from planning to execution. After two years of refining and testing, the website was ready to go global. Then, in 2013, we made the decision to unify our business under a single international identity. The name “crowdsite” fit perfectly. We transformed logo-design.de into crowdsite.de and rolled out the English version at crowdsite.com.
