We found it extremely unprofessional of the owner to charge us an express surcharge, although this was not agreed. For our feeling, such behavior is not appropriate in business. Therefore, only one star and no recommendation.

I can only recommend every Bfc'ler to make a big bow around this store. Completely overpriced for the quality! Even one star is too much for this store.

Two stars for the very good quality of the products ordered. However, that's not quite half the battle for me. I had my project work printed here as well as a matching cover designed. For a good service in this industry, I would have expected at least a detailed, for the print and the resulting appearance, formal work through. For me, the impression here was: "Quick money, quick look over, it'll fit." Accordingly, the appearance of my project work is now... Quick money, etc. Sure, there are students who are proficient in MS Office, but even they don't notice everything, such as the simple mistake of not alternating the gutter for printing on each page. It looks wonderfully stupid when you now open the high-quality cover. First impression for the examiner when he opens the work: RUNNING! Statement from the owner: "Well, I think you can hardly see that...". But... you can see it. I've spoken to a few other people who have had their bachelor's and master's theses printed by small print shops near universities in Göttingen and Kassel. These printers looked at the work closely with the students and checked it carefully for the form that was relevant for printing. And they immediately noticed such "little things" as the gutter, although "...you can hardly see it...". I think that much effort can at least be expected. Especially because the owner prints at least 20 such jobs per year. AND: They are still a third cheaper, with almost the same good quality. Tip to the owner: Take your time. Check the document to be printed carefully. Possibly make a couple of pages of test print (should not be a problem). And don't take it for granted that Northeim students come to him because it's so convenient. At least that's the impression I got. I think the trip to Göttingen should be considered in the printing decision. Nevertheless, communication was always friendly. Price communication was transparent. Ps.: I ask to refrain from offering a mutually agreeable solution on the part of the owner, because, as the saying goes: the train has sailed (or in this case, left). In the future, just do better.

Dear Mr. Borell, First of all, I am pleased that you like our work (cover and the execution of the printing and binding). We agreed in writing to deliver a print-ready PDF for the inside. We designed and implemented the cover. Furthermore, a production time of about 10 days was discussed. They sent us the data so that we saw them for the first time on the 14th. Thus had, because of the holidays Good Friday and Easter effectively 5 days. Thus, the file had to go into the machine at 12. Due to the late delivery, however, you have left us a time window of 3 hours and that on a normally busy morning. Of course, as a gesture of goodwill, even without it being agreed, we check print files for anomalies, RIP errors or color deviations. This has "saved" many students. However, when a file is delivered so late that we have to go all out to get it ready on time at all, there is no time to look for operator errors in Word or to print samples. We have never had a student who had to go to the deadline without a printed study. But even if we had pointed out your error, you would not have been able to deliver a new file within the time frame of one day of class. Covenants, font sizes, and file attachments are, as far as I know, specified by the school and the content is to be created by the student. I am surprised that a customer who I have rated as having great structure and integrity, and now deducts stars in their rating for a mistake that they made themselves and that we could not have found in the short amount of time. You praise the work and the cover several times. Should I really have said, Mr. Borell, I'll check your file, but since you're behind every deadline, it's not going to happen with the completion. Of course you can see in the print after binding if a mistake of say 2 mm is made at the gutter, just not in the file with bleed. You have looked at the file for weeks and made printouts. We do not shift blame back and forth and do everything possible. Be it in appointments, photos and especially in the cover, which decisively determines the appearance. If necessary, we communicate with students after hours or at night and stand by them and usually this effort is rewarded. Here, a thank you is more important than money. More time goes into the studies and design than we ever charge for - but these are great and dedicated students who are fun to work with to create something great. Even if the return falls short of what we earn from conceptual industry contracts. That makes this feedback hurt all the more. I can't remember downplaying an extraneous error, why should I? An audit was not agreed upon and time-wise not possible at all. What do you say to customers who say after the purchase: I should have taken it in blue? Yes, you took a really stupid color? Of course, one is annoyed about one's own mistakes and then about the fact that others have not seen more than one. But you shouldn't forget that they did everything they could to make sure you got your work in your hands on time. For us nothing and no customer is self-evident, besides Göttingen, there is the Internet and many competitors. We also make the lion's share of our orders with foreign regular customers and corporations. But we are happy that there are such great projects, whose main "yield" is the good cooperation, a perfect result and a great satisfaction of the customer. Usually CI, CD and the impact of a design are what counts. Much in advertising is standard and one of many. At BFC, each study is a unique piece, which students have worked towards for a year and which they hand in with pride in their achievement.

Dear Nadine, we are always happy to receive feedback. Of course, less so if there is insight at the time of collection and afterwards comes a bad evaluation that has nothing whatsoever to do with our agency business. Especially since the highlighted friendliness of the staff who wanted to do a favor. We have, with the indication that a correct cutting is impossible, delivered inkjet prints, of poor quality tried to save. In between there was a telephone inquiry from us whether it should really be done, because the result will not meet our requirements. Front and back side were not printed congruently by the customer and there were considerable deviations in the stack. No element had a necessary bleed or safety margin. Anyone else would have rejected this order for sure. Thank you for making it clear to us that it doesn't seem worth doing favors and spending an hour cutting on stacks that are impossible to cut correctly because the source material just doesn't give you the capabilities. For the future, we will take this into account and refrain from doing favors that then cost enormous amounts of time. Therefore, as I said, we thank you for this lesson. We work as an agency and print shop for the 3 largest employers in Northeim, the public sector and domestic and foreign companies. Almost every text from an American corporation in the German-speaking world crosses our tables. As a rule, I don't have a single complaint among my agency customers. It doesn't matter to us whether the customer is a "lone wolf" or has 52,000 employees.
