Hi Robin, thanks a lot for your feedback. We’re, of course, very sorry that it seems you’re dissatisfied. To go through your points in order: the costs you say were hidden appear to be hidden so well that even our accounting can’t find them. Aside from the initial setup of the website, we only billed the hosting for the respective one-year period and a few hours for content maintenance or website adjustments after you placed an order. This directly brings us to the issue of your dependency on our agency: as part of the handover and the go-live of your website in 2024, you were given a personal login plus a physical backup of the entire instance. Essentially a “turnkey” handover—that’s how we deliver all our projects. With that access, you then also brought parts of the frontend down yourself, which meant we had to repair them with minimal effort (1.5 hours), and yes, we billed that as well. So are we maybe finally getting to the truth behind the “hidden costs”? Regarding the somewhat clumsy termination of your hosting: when it came to the automatic renewal, the only thing you said on your end during a phone call about seven months ago was that you wanted to cancel it. With respect—this kind of idea would throw us all into chaos in terms of legal requirements. In practice, any information of that kind must be provided to us in writing. I pointed that out back then as well. In addition, near the end of the call you also weren’t even sure what you wanted to do with your website. Because we then noted exactly that—that we had not received any cancellation and, unfortunately, that we don’t transcribe and archive all calls from the past years—we received your email asking for an immediate cancellation and immediate deletion of the domain. Let’s put it this way: your assumption doesn’t line up with reality. We don’t make any groundbreaking money from hosting, and we certainly don’t from discussions about supposed information you say you told me about seven months ago. Accordingly, we carried out what your email requested: we terminated the hosting and canceled the domain. In the end, you were only charged for the remaining term of the next 30 days of the otherwise extraordinary-terminated hosting package. We hope those €12.50 net weren’t the reason for the 1-star review and the allegation about hidden costs. By the way: since your rating now seems to be based on several incorrect statements, we’d be happy to give you the chance to correct or remove them. Alternatively, we would have to report the case to Google and hand it over to the lawyer we’ve entrusted with this matter. And if we take it one step further: we could also give you a blunt 1-star review for your pressure tactics, including the threats—but that’s simply not our style.
