For the past few months, I’ve been getting mail from infas all the time, and I throw it away unread. On the positive side, the letters are actually good for starting the fire in the fireplace. At no point did I ever agree to being bothered, and I’m constantly annoyed by these letters. What’s really sad is that taxpayers’ money is being wasted, especially since the institute is funded by the Ministry of Families. I expected that after the third unanswered letter, I’d finally be left in peace. But today Letter No. 6 arrived. It’s driving me crazy.

The evening vibe of this building really pleasantly surprised me.

I find the data collection here pretty questionable, especially since it’s supposedly for research. I’m supposedly chosen at random so my privacy is protected, but the first questions I get after registering to “get to know you” are directly my street address, including the house number. I could understand being asked about the state or the district where you live. But personal details like your full address or your date of birth (instead of your age), etc., are extremely specific—and I don’t think they’re relevant for research into politics and the economy. Be careful about what data you put online, folks!

…a woman named Langhammer showed up, parked her car on my private property without so much as asking, and then tried to talk to my wife—wherever she’d gotten her name from. She said she was from the INfAS Institute and that she needed to have a conversation because, after all, her visit had been announced. If there’s anything to discuss—especially when it comes to people’s private lives—then please don’t do it with a stranger who doesn’t even identify herself and who shows up unannounced to bother people…
