Description

HomeExchange is the world’s leading provider of home exchange services, and its concept promotes sustainable and cost-effective travel. The goal of the PR launch in Germany was to raise awareness of the niche topic of “home exchange” in relevant German media and to establish HomeExchange as a responsible player in the tourism industry. To achieve this, we developed a dedicated content calendar and created monthly press releases as well as exclusive story ideas for distribution to selected B2C media outlets. In addition, we conducted an online study on the topic of “workation,” conducted interviews with HomeExchange members, and initiated initial collaborations with lifestyle influencers. Through proactive outreach combined with high-quality content, we succeeded in securing regional and national media coverage and building a steadily growing network of journalists.

Solution

To raise awareness of HomeExchange and the concept of home exchange in Germany among our customers, our PR efforts are based on four key initiatives: 1.) In collaboration with opinion research firms, we conducted and analyzed online surveys that help HomeExchange demonstrate its expert status in the tourism industry. 2.) Through individual testimonials from platform users, we were able to provide interested journalists with firsthand information and convey the concept of home exchange in an authentic way. 3.) In addition to high-reach media at the national level, we approached the local press to demonstrate the regional significance of home exchange while simultaneously promoting local coverage. 4.) Another approach was to grant journalists exclusive rights to publish the information we provided, thereby building and strengthening long-term relationships.

Results

Over a six-month period, we secured more than a dozen publications in print and online media for our client, some of them in top national publications. The ROI of the entire campaign, measured in advertising equivalent value, was approximately 1,280 percent. In addition to the growing interest in the “home exchange” topic, which is evident in the organic demand from journalists, among other things, we have increasingly expanded our network of journalists to include TV and radio stations.
